'Bag It':

I must comment on an item I read in yesterday's New York Post ("Blond babes and the bag brigade") that made me chuckle...According to the article, in an attempt to promote their latest bag, "The Latest Blond", the folks at Christian Dior sent out "dozens of blonde wigs" to a-list type party revelers during Fashion Week. And free bags were sent to the likes of Beyonce Knowles, Gisele Bundchen, Aerin Lauder, and Helen Lee Schifter. As if this group can't afford to buy one themselves.

Particularly in the case of Ms. Schifter, the socialite who turns up front row center at every major fashion show, attends every major party and gala, and is constantly photographed- never repeating the same outfit- or bag- twice. And her hubby happens to head up his own bag company- Tim is CEO of LeSportsac....This gal needs one more bag like I need a hole in the head. Why don't these companies ever give freebies to the 'needy'? It would be so much more 'politically correct'.
