Pieces of the 'Puzzle':

Considering the strange, perplexing, and puzzling times we are currently in, I suppose it shouldn't have been surprising that the second highest price for an item of clothing at today's Doyle New York Couture Textiles and Accessories Auction did not go for a Norell, a Fortuny, a Dior, or a Worth, but for a rather moddish 'Rare La Multirobe Puzzle Dress'. What was most interesting about this number, which was estimated at fetching between $1,800 and $2,000 and ended up at $7,000- was that it was made of approximately 250 chocolate brown vinyl puzzle pieces from which you could design your own dress of choice- thanks to an accompanying set of directions. The highest price was $8,500, which went for a 60's Yves St. Laurent sequined mini dress, which far exceeded its estimate of $3,000-$5,000!
